Carfield Community Choir
started 18 years ago, originally based at Carfield School in Meersbrook. Nowadays it meets weekly at the Church of the Nazarene in Heeley. The choir is open to everyone, there are no auditions, and the emphasis is on the joy of making music together. However the choir has some notable achievements, including leading these annual winter concerts and Carfield was one of three Sheffield Choirs working together to organise the national Street Choirs Festival, when it came to our city in 2024.
One World Choir
This vibrant, life-enhancing Sheffield-based choir brings together people seeking asylum, refugees, and local residents. Through singing, they aim to break down barriers between people of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, promoting cultural awareness and mutual respect by sharing songs from members’ countries and traditions.
The Sparkle Sistaz
Part of Sheffield’s ‘Under the Stars’ project – People with learning disabilities and/or autism are often unseen, unheard and underestimated. Under the Stars challenges society’s expectations, using the power of music and theatre to empower people, develop their skills, unlock their potential and build their confidence. They become better actors, musicians, dancers and DJs, they make friends, and know they belong somewhere exciting. Sparkle Sistaz is Under the Stars Women’s band, writing their own songs and inspiring audiences with their joyful performances.
The Quirky Quartet
Jess, Pete, Megan & Justin
Carfield’s talented splinter group! From a tipsy idea in the pub, to a beautifully balanced mini-choir delighting us with their harmonies.
We are sad that our dear friend Gail, original member of the Quartet and a founder member of Carfield choir, passed away earlier this year. In celebration of Gail’s musical gift and all she contributed, we are very pleased to welcome Quirky Quartet v2 to our Winter Concert this year.
